The National Association of Trailer Manufacturers was founded in 1987 as the National Association of Livestock Trailer Manufacturers (NATLM). In 1992, the association decided it would represent all light- and medium-duty trailers manufacturers. Over 25 years later, the association has grown to represent more than 410 trailer manufacturing and 350 supplier companies who employ more than 270,000 individuals. NATM trailer manufacturing members produced over 643,000 trailers in 2011 resulting in over $3 billion in annual sales.
A main component of the association is the NATM Compliance Verification Program. The program was implemented in 2002 and manufacturers volunteered to be part of the program. Due to the overwhelming success of the program, it became a requirement of membership as of Jan. 1, 2012. Visit The NATM at www.natm.com.
